Jumplead 3

Matt Fenn ,

Where do we start?

9 months ago we took a long hard look at our online marketing system and decided that as great as it was we wanted to do much more. The changes that we wanted were designed to create a marketing system for the next 10 years of the internet.

Our service happily combined website analytics with a CRM and email marketing and the things our customers were asking for were all incremental feature additions. Happy days.

Good but not enough.

However, we wanted to do so much more and we knew that we would need to fundamentally re-engineer a significant amount of Jumplead to achieve it.

So what did we want to do?

1. Deliver a much better experience across mobile devices.

We've done this by redesigning the entire user interface to simplify workflows and used responsive web design to allow it to scale right down to work on a smartphone.

2. Take advantage of using a JavaScript framework.

This allows us to deliver a vastly more sophisticated and interactive experience whilst reducing server load, allowing us scale much better.

3. Create a comprehensive API.

To allow other developers to work with and extend Jumplead (we'll be opening this up in the future), but at the moment Jumplead 3 is built to make use of our API.

4. Start a community.

Most marketing systems are 'walled gardens' were you have to pay for training and education. We want a place where people have access to great marketing tools and somewhere to share their experiences so that everyone can learn.

So here we are 9 months down the line and Jumplead 3 is live. It feels like we've been running to stand still for a long time, with much of our development effort being behind the scenes.

It's great to be able to roll out fixes and those incremental improvements knowing that we're working on a codebase that's designed and built for the next 10 years.

Let's get to work.

Over the coming weeks we'll be largely 'eating our own dog food' and rebuilding our marketing messaging and automations using Jumplead 3.

We've also got some great ideas for our content calendar and we'll be looking to add value for everyone with a Jumplead account and build community activity.

So we hope to see you there!
